We really play bad against them. None of our starting pitchers have really good outings. Their not terrible (Weaver 2 ER, Lackey 3 ER, Saunders 3 ER) but they have been so much better just recently.
Is it truly not interesting enough against a bad team ?
Glorious late innings comeback is one of trademark quality of luminous team
Led by luminous manager Mike Scioscia. My friend and I have seen this before in other matches we study. Old wise player Garret Anderson to make grand appearance on grand stage which will rival bird cage stadium.
come on Tex

Come on U-Haul, you are just borrowing that Angels uniform you are wearing.
PROVE YOU DESERVE TO WEAR IT NOW!
Let’s Go Angels!

Quite well, in fact

And Bora$$$$ weep$
Fan Since 1981 - August 17, 2008
aaaand...we're gonna need to do better than that
Carl Johnson - August 17, 2008

What is it with these bad teams
We really play bad against them. None of our starting pitchers have really good outings. Their not terrible (Weaver 2 ER, Lackey 3 ER, Saunders 3 ER) but they have been so much better just recently.
Is it truly not interesting enough against a bad team ?
infant - August 17, 2008
Indians aren't that bad
They’ve had some killer injuries this year
highlandhalo - August 17, 2008
They are pretty bad, still.
Just look at the errors they make. Their pitching (apart from Lee) isn’t supposed to limit us to this couple of runs.
infant - August 17, 2008
That's how it's been pretty much all season.
Zu Long - August 17, 2008
But aye indeed it is frustrating
highlandhalo - August 17, 2008
Well, if Boston loses (as they are), then Tampa can lose
Carl Johnson - August 17, 2008
its probably a good thing tex didnt hit any go-ahead hits there
they dont work out well for us
ihearhowie2.0 - August 17, 2008
If he's not allowed to get go-ahead hits, his value to the team kinda takes a hit
Zu Long - August 17, 2008
rain delay for a dome stadium?
ihearhowie2.0 - August 17, 2008
Hurricanes are bad
Carl Johnson - August 17, 2008
Guess where we're headed too
highlandhalo - August 17, 2008
If it sticks
they play in Houston, as with the move to Milwaukee in last year’s Cleveland series in April.
scareduck - August 17, 2008
Is that per MLB?
highlandhalo - August 17, 2008
Sorry
That was the Times speculation.
scareduck - August 17, 2008
NOW bean him Speier
highlandhalo - August 17, 2008
Speier...
Get it together man.
infant - August 17, 2008
Dude, it's Speier.
We’re lucky to not be down by three already.
Zu Long - August 17, 2008
He already gave up 1.
Who’s saying he’s done ?
infant - August 17, 2008
See ?
He’s well on his way to give up 3+
infant - August 17, 2008
That was MY point.
You were the one telling him to get it together.
Zu Long - August 17, 2008
I want him to get it together
But I don’t think he will.
In the end – we both think he’ll give up 3+
infant - August 17, 2008
Leave Jose alone, Mike
Carl Johnson - August 17, 2008
Why?
Zu Long - August 17, 2008
I want him to get a couple days rest
Carl Johnson - August 17, 2008
If we expect him to be closer, he better get used to the workload now.
Zu Long - August 17, 2008
He won't be the closer next year, we all know what Sosh thinks of veterans
And I’d prefer that we not destroy him before we need him in the playoffs.
Carl Johnson - August 17, 2008
Agree
Let’s give the guy some rest
infant - August 17, 2008
Scioscia's opinion of veterans didn't keep Frankie from taking over at 22.
It won’t keep Dondo from taking over at 24.
Zu Long - August 17, 2008
I'll put $5 on the table that Arredondo doesn't close a majority of the games next year
Carl Johnson - August 17, 2008
If K-Rod walks, you're on.
Zu Long - August 17, 2008
clear out MISTER HIGH STAKES is here!!!!!
Rev Halofan - August 17, 2008

scareduck - August 17, 2008
Holy crap
you can say that again.
And Hunter’s pretty much back too.
infant - August 17, 2008
He hasn't really gotten much to hit today.
2 walks ain’t bad. He’s been pretty patient.
Zu Long - August 17, 2008
I wanted to add that...
But at least he’ll walk pretty often, and get on base somehow.
infant - August 17, 2008
nobody complains when he golfs those crap pitches outta the park.
Rev Halofan - August 17, 2008
and that happens how often in relation to how many he flails at?
K3YEROUT - August 17, 2008
Often enought to be one of the greatest hitters of all time.
Zu Long - August 17, 2008
yup, but where is the BA this year? Not near his avg!
K3YEROUT - August 17, 2008

K3YEROUT - August 17, 2008
You would be wrong, too.
Zu Long - August 17, 2008
Whateverrrrr!
K3YEROUT - August 17, 2008
Less often than the DP's he grounds into ;-)
But often enough to still be one of the best bad ball hitters around.
infant - August 17, 2008
True that
but he’s on pace to break the franchise record for GIDP.
scareduck - August 17, 2008
Where's GA?
It befuddles me that a guy with a 20 game hit streak is sitting on the bench in a 1 run game.
Carl Johnson - August 17, 2008
old man needs a rest
these guys are not robots, people, for all we know he could have a banged up knee or something and needs a day off.
STAY BEFUDDLED!
Rev Halofan - August 17, 2008
All I know is that Vlad has a much more obvious injury history and is in a terrible slump
…and he’s still playing.
Carl Johnson - August 17, 2008
4 years younger than G.A.
is a LOT, and again, roster management takes quite a bit on Soth’s part.
Rev Halofan - August 17, 2008
Would Soth jeopardise the streak for a PH appearance
My feeling is he would in the right situation, ie, Quinlan’s or Mathis’ spot
highlandhalo - August 17, 2008
is willits still injured?
torii could probably use a day off
and i dont want gary playing

This series = HUGE failure
infant - August 17, 2008
move back from the ledge
not that big a deal
yeswecan - August 17, 2008
No it's not a big deal
But they should’ve won the series. Those were some bad games against a sucky Cleveland team.
infant - August 17, 2008
I wish our guys would stop looking at pitches thrown right down the middle
Angel Hawker - August 17, 2008
Be patient, swing at first pitch strikes.
We should make up our minds here.
Zu Long - August 17, 2008
I vote for...
swinging at balls thrown right down the middle ALL THE TIME
Angel Hawker - August 17, 2008
Me too.
Some people here would disagree though, based on prior posts.
Zu Long - August 17, 2008
Oh...
by the way, I didn’t just mean the first pitch to Aybar, I meant strike two to Figgins as well
Angel Hawker - August 17, 2008
Ok, I looked at the replay...

Angel Hawker - August 17, 2008
there goes the streak.

this is our August swoon, the team is tired, listless
tanana40 - August 17, 2008
Or... had a bad series...
Zu Long - August 17, 2008
I don't think it is a long term deal, just couldn't keep up the past we had since All Star game
tanana40 - August 17, 2008
Well Soth did all he could to get this team the tying run
its just to bad we can hit sac flys
WillGoAngels27 - August 17, 2008
He could have pinch hit Naps for Figgins. >_>;
Zu Long - August 17, 2008
A little bumb in the road...
no big deal. Let’s not overreact now
Angel Hawker - August 17, 2008
Good news:
Kendry and S-Rod did their jobs.
Zu Long - August 17, 2008
True
infant - August 17, 2008
and, if Willits had been healthy he would have been the PR for Juan....
