IM going with Figgy........
ole spark plug 3 runs scored…..4 hits…........VA BENE!
Not sure I understand how to read/interpret all that data, but if I understand correctly, Fangraphs says Torii by a big margin, followed by my pick (Rivera).
Man, this is like….it like my old daydreams back in school about how great it would be if the Angels were an elite team. Now its real…..and its fuckin’ awesome.
My theory: a 3-0 lead against the Yankees in the 4th inning is nothing. A 6-0 lead is entirely different, and completely changed the complexion of the game.
The act itself was not exceptional, nor was Rivera’s day as a whole, which is standard Panther criteria; however, that HR was the most significant moment of the game, as far as I’m concerned.
That was a strike out of Abreu before he hit that bomb. And then the umps pulling that crap with Garland. Seems like the Yanks and Sux are always taking their sweet ass time between pitches. But oh well since when are the umps on our side anyways?
Let’s not get complacent fans. They certainly can’t run Joba the Hat out there 3 straight games so any drubbing of a Skank starter should be viewed as a potential drubbing of an October opposer.
3, Three-run dingers? Are you frigg’n kidding me? What were people saying about offense?
My Panther goes to Big Daddy. Just because it’s always nice to see your franchise player remind the World that you don’t want to wake up sleeping giants

I'm gonna say Figgs.
Gotta have baserunners to get 3 run HR’s, and Figgs was all over the basepaths. What a night, though.

TheOptimist - July 31, 2008
Torii hit the big shot that got us our lead
He’s panther for starting it off right. Fangraphs agrees.

Loving the Fact
that GA and Howie combine for seven hits and they can’t crack the top five in the poll.
Good Times…

Gonna go Figgy

Panther is Figgy
Save of the Game goes to Oliver (and the ump). Given O’Day’s meltdown, this would’ve been much closer had the DP not occured.

Gettin' Figgy With It!!!

Juan Rivera garners my Panther vote.

Well said
If I hadn’t voted Figginator I’d agree.
ReggieBullits - July 31, 2008

norcaliangelsfan - July 31, 2008

norcaliangelsfan - July 31, 2008
Are the Angels peaking too soon?
Stirrups - July 31, 2008
Erase this post please
eyespy - July 31, 2008
Meh. Tex hasn't even started hitting yet.
This is just the offense waking up and realizing it’s a lot stronger than they thought it was. Heck, Naps missed the whole freakin’ month.
TheOptimist - July 31, 2008
LOL
Good point on Naps.
Zu Long - July 31, 2008
And it ranks as one of the best months in team history. Coincidence? Discuss...
Stirrups - July 31, 2008
Well, then, Mr. Pythagoras must be very happy once again.
Stirrups - July 31, 2008
Would you believe we're still 7 wins over where we should be according to the
mighty triangle?
TheOptimist - July 31, 2008
Shhhhhhhhhh

Snark is cool, bad mojo is not
Please erase
highlandhalo - July 31, 2008
twas not snark. was serious consideration for discussion.
worrying about season mojo with 50 more games is stoopid.
Stirrups - July 31, 2008
They should throw a couple games, that way they don't peak.
hauldog - August 1, 2008
If they win the first three aginst NY, Sosh will put in his GMJ/Willits/Q lineup.
Problem solved.
Stirrups - August 1, 2008
there should be an 'entire offense' panther option
everybody got a hit and everybody scored a run.
panthers, all of them were today.
gcash - July 31, 2008
Chone deserves his first season panther. Plus he has pulled himself out of the little slump he was having earlier.

He went beyond his norm. Even after the ump tried to get in his ass
eyespy - July 31, 2008
Concur. Garland by a whisker over O'Day.
Stirrups - July 31, 2008
O'Day????
O’DAY???? You are joking, right? Or did you mean E.T.?
red floyd - July 31, 2008
that was snark...
Stirrups - July 31, 2008
Six to seven innings is about average for Garland. He did'nt go beyond anything today. He did pitch very well.
44FAN - August 1, 2008
WOW
Horrible calls by the umps tonight! I mean WOW!
KingF15h - July 31, 2008

norcaliangelsfan - July 31, 2008
Have 10 I say!
I’d like to thank the Buffalo Bills for Gregg Williams and London Fletcher. Was sad to say Two-Gs go.
ReggieBullits - July 31, 2008
Thank the Rams for London Fletcher...
the guy was undrafted, IIRC

Jobba the Hat
That is one of the best nicknames I have ever heard. Panther to you sir!
KingF15h - August 1, 2008
Another vote for The Figginator
That pick in the 7th was sick.
ReggieBullits - July 31, 2008
And in the 9th
Saved at least 2 runs and a rally. Fucks sake people Figgy by a mile.
ReggieBullits - July 31, 2008
This is actually getting friggin' rediculous:
BWood hit another one out tonight. Are there no pitchers left in AAA?
wumbug - July 31, 2008
And DMAC
hasn’t hit one since yesterday.
wumbug - July 31, 2008
Damn!
D Mac is raking! Hard to believe he’s still sitting in AAA.
LittleCupcakes - July 31, 2008
i saw an article that said that management thinks Wood is
just one winter ball season from sticking in the majors.
hopefully, that’ll happen this offseason.
i can’t believe he’s hitting almost .300.

Garland
You saw how quick the Yanks can get back in it. He was dealing, and kept them from doing so. The offensive contributions were too many to narrow down.
Red114 - August 1, 2008
Figgy
GA became the first Angel with back to back four hit games since 1978.
A healthy GA is a good GA
