I think it's more the Rev would like people having a civil yet heated debate on baseball
It’s HIS reputation on the line. Not yours.
Crap like that makes this blog look like the Britney Spears Trailer Trash Blog-O-Rama
You guys are making whiny assed women look good. I have never been with a group of guys that disintegrate so quickly into a whizzing match over the stupidest things.
Hey shifty tell me where you work so I can tell your what YOUR job description is. I have been building this site up since March of 2005 with the help of lots of people and you start a game thread by calling Jim Muscomp a troll, let me guess, that was your passion.
which, unless you have some impassioned love for counting, it is. And it’s annoying. He called himself a troll, and I refuted him, telling him simply his post was a bullshit filler post at best.
Secondly, I cut the heads off of mice and analyzed their brains today. There’s not a lot of room for decorum there.
Thirdly, it’s just jokes, man. Especially in this thread here. We all love the Angels here, we should embrace our brotherhood as such.
Honestly, I’m a dick like 30% of the time, which is far less than say, hauldog (no offense, man). But if you don’t think I’m funny, that’s fine, but if you think you’re being civil when you call a faithful poster/patron of your website a “loser”, then how am I supposed to think you tolerate behavior of that caliber around here?
It’s not exactly good for this reputation you speak of to insult your own.
You said I don’t have anything useful to say. That is a little more far reaching than not liking my most recent entry. But, after a couple retorts, I let it go and moved on. But, it seemed that you were antagonizing more than just me today.
I left the thread to tend to the kids, and when I came back it was closed down. I certainly hope I didn’t have much, if anything to do with that decision, Rev. If so, I apologize. I don’t want to piss on the carpet in your house – that’s for sure.
I don’t normally get to the game threads, so I figured I’d give it a shot today, and can honestly say that I found it to be not a lot of fun.

Speaking of which, I want to say that I’m going to make more of an effort to be less combative in the gameday topics especially. I try not to call people names, but I could be better about not starting arguments.
Also, as long as I’ve got you here, thanks for the shout-out to Eric Neel. ;-)

anway the game was awesome, kotch and torii launched some bombs… i saw a well-executed squeeze and i got to watch manny admire his meaningless HR right before his team went down… sweet day. oh yeah… ill go kotch on the panther go ahead HR after sox took the lead earlier was big
Giving up that walk-off homer to Manny in the 9th was just brutal.
Oh wait…... it wasn’t a walk-off? Sorry…. My bad, Manny’s reaction to it threw me there for a second.
My Panther of the Game goes to Kotch. His homerun gave the Angels the lead for good but the reason why I give him Panther over Hunter was because the pitch he hit was actually a nice pitch by Dice-K on the outside corner, whereas Hunter’s pitch was a big fat meatball. Kotch was smart on that one for sure, his priority was advancing the runner, he knew they’d pitch him on the outside corner to make that harder so he looked there and put a very nice swing on it.
I’m glad the Angels offense is doing much better than it was earlier in the year even though Figgy isn’t doing nearly as well as last year but man do they still frustrate me at times. Things that frustrated me. Kendrick swinging at a 3-0 pitch with 0 outs and runners at first and 2nd and Dice-K struggling to find the zone. HK only has 3 homers all season and letting him swing 3-0 gives Dice-K an opportunity to get out of the jam by throwing one strike. Earlier in the game, Figgy had gotten on, Dice-K gets into a 3-1 count on Kotch and they do a hit and run. The whole point of a 3-1 count is you have worked the pitcher into a count where you can look for your pitch, zone him, and swing only if it’s your pitch. By sending the runner, the batter is going to swing at even the pitcher’s strikes. 3-2 I don’t have a problem with him going at all, but why risk getting thrown out at 2nd on a 3-1 pitch when it’s likely that if you JUST WAIT 1 pitch you’ll be at 2nd w/o even having to run…...
Also did anyone catch Phillips talking about GA and how he excels at working the count? That cracked me up pretty good. I normally think he’s pretty astute but man he’s dead wrong on that one.
Kotch did well to take Dice-K deep on that pitch, it was a good pitch, whilst Hunter’s was wheelhouse. Also agree with the hit and run scenario, didn’t make much sense to me either unless Soth was trying to confuse the Sux by doing something totally unexpected.
As for the Phillips thing: I agree with you that GA hacks a lot, but he likes to swing at his pitch, even if it’s the first pitch he sees. But he is pretty good at working the count when he gets into a deep count. GA is pretty darn good at fouling off pitches if he falls behind and pretty darn patient as well when it comes to waiting for his pitch. And he likes yummy fastballs.

He was clutch enough to start up the offensive hit parade.

BOTG goes to Frankie

Agree with almost everything here
Kotch did well to take Dice-K deep on that pitch, it was a good pitch, whilst Hunter’s was wheelhouse.
