props to Vlad for showing that Beckett could be hit, Hokie Joe for hanging in there on an off day for him, for GA, and for the Soth micro-managing this thing to a beautiful conclusion.
You lot in OC, bring your brooms. This will send a message!
in the right field seats, Aybar’s hit was huge. best part is walking out of the stadiums hearing the sucks fans complain cuz they’re not healthy and that the sweep is coming in October again. hmmmm, it’s amazing what GA can do when he can actually see Boston pitching. i think we can compete with anyone when 100%.
But Saunders one day quicker than he thought he was going to pitch against Josh Beckett and he gives up like 5 hits and Two runs to one of the more potent steroid filled offenses in Baseball, hes gotta get a look for Panther too
is that by itself, it’s a fairly forgiveable mistake to make IF the two events (Scioscia’s hiring and Arte’s purchase) were anywhere near each other in date. That one happened more than 8 years ago, and the other about 5 is what makes it so much more pathetic.
Scioscia had already been manager for 3 years when Arte came along and these so-called baseball experts should be well aware that Mike was hired by Bill Stoneman.
Probably Bill Stoneman’s most important move for us, alongside the Vlad signing.
Aybar, no doubt

Admiral
Props to Vald for getting us going
hk47 - July 19, 2008
Vald or Vlad, whatever
hk47 - July 19, 2008
Nah,
He’d only be Vald if he shabed his head.
red floyd - July 19, 2008
all about the ADMIRAL
BigBangRobbDawgg - July 19, 2008
Tough call...
Aybar, but there was some very good D as well.
red floyd - July 19, 2008
Figgins would have been higher on the board if he'd come through with Aybar on third.
2-3 with a BB though, good sign out of 1-hole. Also as you say, some nice grabs.
Zu Long - July 19, 2008
Admiral all over the place.
Though BIG props to Scioscia, who clearly knew exactly what Francona was going to do and set him up.
Zu Long - July 19, 2008
Lord Aybar!
Funke5ive - July 19, 2008
classic
agreed—aybar!
Four Ts - July 19, 2008

CLUTCH hit

Another uncontested Panther
I love this team. I love them like a stripper loves $5 bills.
Bring on the knuckler.

Five dollars? Al Bundy would roll over in his grave
PieceOfAase - July 19, 2008
Still no respect from ESPN
Just went over there and the lead story (legitimately) is Greg Norman leading the British Open …
However, notice how quickly they bury a story when their beloved Sux choke a lead, and promo it on the front page every time the Sux win.
F——bomb intended but not used.

Nice!

on a nationally TV game….and the Angels come back to win…....and i have to miss it….......
That my fellow fans…......is panther…....good job gents
norcaliangelsfan - July 19, 2008
Joe Saunders
The Admiral had a REALLY clutch hit, but when you hold the Red Sox offense to 2 runs, you’re doing something right
KingF15h - July 19, 2008
Is it me,
or are they starting to look more like the ‘02 Angels since the blowout in Texas?
Plate discipline still needs work, even though Hunters AB against Bucholz was classic ‘02
red floyd - July 19, 2008

Carl Johnson - July 19, 2008

BruinHalo - July 19, 2008
get a new liver
cupie - July 19, 2008
I mean...
I haven’t showered since Thursday. And since then the Angels have won. Coincidence?
Hopefully it’s your beer buying that’s doing it. I need to get clean.
BruinHalo - July 19, 2008
Get a new liver and more beer
It’s a long season. A marathon not a sprint. But just take it day by day, like the Soth says
highlandhalo - July 19, 2008
take it beer by beer
cupie - July 19, 2008
This should be an equal liver and equal beer opportunity clubhouse ...
.... errrr website.
highlandhalo - July 19, 2008
I know Aybar gets this one and all
But Saunders one day quicker than he thought he was going to pitch against Josh Beckett and he gives up like 5 hits and Two runs to one of the more potent steroid filled offenses in Baseball, hes gotta get a look for Panther too

The Fox National
Broadcasters were trying to hold out hope for a BoSux comeback, by showing some stat about Boston comebacks.
Hey BoSux Fans, ask your Mom about come-from-behind wins. She knows.
Scuff - July 19, 2008
Overall I thought FOX did a great job on the Angels broadcast
They said things like over the last 7 years or so, no one is really doing it better than the Angels.
They said great thngs about their pitching and front office and Scioscia.
MH252525 - July 19, 2008
You're right.
For some reason I thought I was watching an ESPN broadcast.
Scuff - July 19, 2008
They also said Arte Moreno hired Scioscia.
Funke5ive - July 19, 2008
XD
Zu Long - July 19, 2008
What's saddest about this
is that by itself, it’s a fairly forgiveable mistake to make IF the two events (Scioscia’s hiring and Arte’s purchase) were anywhere near each other in date. That one happened more than 8 years ago, and the other about 5 is what makes it so much more pathetic.
Caseys Kiss of Death - July 20, 2008
It was pretty shoddy journalism
Scioscia had already been manager for 3 years when Arte came along and these so-called baseball experts should be well aware that Mike was hired by Bill Stoneman.
Probably Bill Stoneman’s most important move for us, alongside the Vlad signing.
highlandhalo - July 20, 2008
They also said
Rick Willits laid down a perfect sacrifice.
