“The NBA Finals are played in a 2-3-2 format, meaning the team with home-court advantage hosts games 1, 2, 6 and 7, and their opponent hosts games 3, 4 and 5. The home-court advantage is determined in both rounds by record regardless of seed.”
The cop-out that “the game is for the fans” to total B.S. ALL OF PROFESSIONAL BASEBALL IS FOR THE FANS, FOLKS. It. Is. Entertainment. Put together for fan enjoyment and suck the wallets as dry as possible. Period. End of story. there is nothing different in that respect for the ASG.
BUT, the ASG CAN be something different, something special, and that is if it returns to a game of merit, peer-voting, which is the legacy that this piece of crap is milking.
Instead of AT LEAST ONE player from each team, it should be NO MORE THAN 4 PLAYERS FROM ANY TEAM. Players and managers and coaches vote. Starters play at least 5. Each player represents some charity and winning side collects $100K per player for charity of choice. Winner take all. Losing side left to apologize for their sucktitude. No home field advantage in WS stuff.
On a serious note, this game is a perfect example of...
good pitching beating good batting. Which means should the Halos make the playoffs in good health, our pitchers can compensate for the lack of a brutal offensive onslaught.
I didn’t post anything that I could imagine being offensive (especially after his warning.) I read EVERYTHING on this site and… give me a break… what I posted should NOT get you banned.
Of course you see where he’s coming from… you’re a moderator yourself.

and don’t let retards manage the game
howiestheman - July 15, 2008
So Sosh has to manage BOTH sides, EVERY year?
Stirrups - July 15, 2008
looks like it
howiestheman - July 15, 2008
P.S. - I am totally down with elimination of fan voting.
Stirrups - July 15, 2008
seriously
let the players and managers do it.
fans can vote in the SPs or something stupid like that
howiestheman - July 15, 2008
Absolutely.
Stirrups - July 15, 2008
So screw Bay and Holliday. I want Nate Mclouth.
TheOptimist - July 15, 2008
40-player rosters?

leftwing - July 15, 2008

howiestheman - July 15, 2008
Tim Raines hit a freakin' bomb in that game
I saw some of the replay.
And Kenny Mayne made about a billion errors, fell down running to first, and couldn’t hit for crap…the broadcasters couldn’t stop making fun of him.
Caseys Kiss of Death - July 15, 2008

cupie - July 15, 2008
Didn't they already declare it that like last week?
It is at YANKEE STADIUM after all
leftwing - July 15, 2008
That's the best part of all this, that this Yankee BJ goes out a total stinker.
Stirrups - July 15, 2008
i think it was being called that
before it started just cuz of where its being played
Sorbo182 - July 15, 2008
That happened already, years ago

howiestheman - July 15, 2008
McLouth - 26, plays all 3 OF positions well, bats left
This season: 281/.357/.542

cupie - July 15, 2008
What did Buck say was Kazmir's pitch limit?
highlandhalo - July 15, 2008
he didnt
we just know he has one
howiestheman - July 15, 2008
Unknown.
It’s in Francona’s head.
Zu Long - July 15, 2008
so it's never coming out?
that thing’s like a black hole
howiestheman - July 15, 2008
That's a good point.
Kaz may be screwed.
Zu Long - July 15, 2008
I just say a position player comes in to pitch
Kazmir can play 1B. Let Kinsler or Quentin throw a frame. Now THAT would be fun.
highlandhalo - July 15, 2008
On a serious note, this game is a perfect example of...
good pitching beating good batting. Which means should the Halos make the playoffs in good health, our pitchers can compensate for the lack of a brutal offensive onslaught.
DRINK!
Big Easy Halofan - July 15, 2008
yeah, plus our offense is 'bout to average 5 runs a game 2nd half
pgh_angelsfan - July 15, 2008
The AL is averaging 1.9 runs/9 innings
leftwing - July 15, 2008
at least until Speier and Bootcheck come in
WAIT! there’s a solution to this!
put Speier on the AL and Booty on the NL. see who scores first

Stirrups - July 15, 2008
nah, mccann just came in
in the bottom of the 15th…
ZiK - July 15, 2008

leftwing - July 15, 2008
And Morneau still barely got there.
Zu Long - July 15, 2008
but he still had time to almost tag out Morneau at home
howiestheman - July 15, 2008

pgh_angelsfan - July 15, 2008
you hafta blame this squarely on the NL voters
pgh_angelsfan - July 15, 2008

Big Easy Halofan - July 15, 2008
No, I mean the sportscenter commentators. They seriously sound tired as ****.
They made a reference to the BBTN crew, I think they have to go wake them up.
TheOptimist - July 15, 2008
Our guys pitched 2.1 innings of a 15-inning game
Everybody else rested for the second half. I disagree Francona overmanaged. He protected all the guys on the teams that are in contention.

Kazmir?

ASG MVP = most overrated award ever

all i know is i was excited when GA won it :D
BigBangRobbDawgg - July 15, 2008

Warning is 100% warranted…
And cupie told you to stop and you didn’t… I can see where he’s coming from…

STOP WHAT???
I didn’t post anything that I could imagine being offensive (especially after his warning.) I read EVERYTHING on this site and… give me a break… what I posted should NOT get you banned.
Of course you see where he’s coming from… you’re a moderator yourself.
Look, I appreciate what you guys do, but be fair.

I didn't realize that posting DIRECT QUOTES by Joe Buck would get you banned.
Over zealous moderator this evening IMHO.
If I’m going to be singled out like this, I’ll certainly reconsider my participation on HalosHeaven.com
