but its always the last guy who screws up that gets the blame. Santana is a close second, but that might be a little harsh…4 runs allowed in 7 isnt that bad….its the walks that killed him though. A little more O would be nice once in a while.
last to fail is probably gonna be the Blame. I’d have GMJ a close second, being the next-to-last guy to fail in our last big offensive spot, striking out on what looked to be a pretty tough pitch from that 11 foot guy, but he’s gotta at least put it in play there especially since the defense has been terrible.
But if a fielding error by Erick Aybar lost the game for the Angels or it was someone else who gave up the game winning hit [Oliver perhaps], the BOTG would be up as soon as the players were leaving the field, last night.
Does anyone really need to make up more excuses not to name certain players for this dubious, game-by-game honor?
I like a little input. If you want to call that an excuse, go ahead.
Nut for you oh BBFan1, if you want to pay me $12 an hour to watch every minute of every game, I can give you the service you are bitching about not having delivered to you for free.
I wanna say......FIGGY......
0-5…........no bueno…......but it will probably be shields…..
norcaliangelsfan - June 25, 2008

0-5 is terrible
anaheim angels - June 25, 2008
Tough call.
Figgy or Ervin
Zu Long - June 25, 2008
I don't feel too strongly about this, but I guess Scotty is the BOTG.
cardinalwraith - June 25, 2008
Shields
44FAN - June 25, 2008
Fangraphs has Shields by a mile, BTW.
Next is Ervin then Figgy.
Zu Long - June 25, 2008
BOTG: Evil, Damn Shields!
PieceOfAase - June 25, 2008
I feel Shields… but i mean that was his first run in 15 INNINGS PITCHED!
eh 5-1 Road Trip so far…
lesserknown - June 25, 2008
cant let the leadoff guy get on.......its always bad juju
norcaliangelsfan - June 25, 2008
Good point about the no runs in 15 innings...
but, we have to blame someone.
Shields it is.
Downing Rules - June 26, 2008

HaloDutch - June 25, 2008
Let's see...
How Shields manages escapes this one…I say it is Vlad for not playing today.
BBFan1 - June 25, 2008
hard to pick Shields
but its always the last guy who screws up that gets the blame. Santana is a close second, but that might be a little harsh…4 runs allowed in 7 isnt that bad….its the walks that killed him though. A little more O would be nice once in a while.

BOTG
#5 Jeffy Mathis
Funke5ive - June 25, 2008
shouldnt be shields
should be figgy or GMJ for striking out against a porous Nats defense with the winning run on third
Carl Johnson - June 25, 2008
Shields
ladybug - June 25, 2008
I place the blame on Figgy.
He looked awful all night, including defense.
Shields did give up the winning run, but after the offense just couldn’t get it done all night. How many LoB did we have and who left them there?
Yeah, that’s what I thought.
shiftyeyedgoat - June 25, 2008
Figgy
Sheild may have blown it in the 9th but Figgy had his worst game since off the DL.

Bill Richardson...
Governor of New Mexico sitting behind home plate.
He cursed the game… shave the beard dude.

yeah...
while he goes on CNN and says that he has no interest.
I hear that he’s also taking up rap and break dancing lessons.
Red - June 25, 2008
I like the beard, actually.
matthiasstephan - June 26, 2008
Hard to go against my man here
but I’m leaning toward Desmond. Shite game.
Shields however, deserves blame for giving it up after we had it tied and did the double-switch and he was supposed to throw 2, maybe 3 innings.
Desmond or Shields. Not like that helps much.

When Aybar lost the game on a fielding error Shields took the BOTG
