you know whats really funny. when our two starters go down, lackey and escobar, they were practically dancing at LL. they were dancing actually. but when their top 2 pitchers (bedard and felix) we dont rub it in thier face or parade around. I guess its because bedards just sucked this year, and felixs injury (thankfully) is very minor. so grow up Midwest and stop trolling (yes, you are trolling if you insult the team and the author of the site) and if you really are an Ms fan, then how come you havent even joined their site yet?
but…. a) his team is up by 4 runs, and no need to risk injury for 1 run b) he was covering the entire plate without realizing that carlos beltran was running as fast as he could to score c) he didnt have the ball d) he didnt give beltran anywhere to go but through him e) he didnt have the ball f) he didnt have the ball
He had time to flip Felix the ball, but didn’t seem to consider it and just dove for Beltran instead. If he gets Felix the ball, Felix has time to turn away.
Felix was the only thing they had left to give them hope this season. Even if the rest of the team sucked, they always had their emerging 23-year old ace to look forward too.
I just listened to Terry and Rex call the game during my drive home, and they are making a total hack of the broadcast tonight. They are getting facts wrong, names wrong, words wrong, stuttering all over the place. It’s noticeably embarrassing.
For example, (according to Rex) did you kinow that LoDuca is unavailable for the game tonight, due to an injury he is rehabbing? No? You didn’t know that? Apparently neither do the Nats, who sent LoDuca up to pinch hit about 10 minutes later.
They sounded distracted, as though there were girls in the booth with them.
At one point Terry was trying to compliment Lackey on getting through so many innings on so few pitches, and half-way through the phrase “pitch efficiency”, he said “piss effic…”
Hud tried to make a point about how tough it was for the Halos to be facing Bergman, whom they had not seen before. But he forgot Bergman’s name and stumbled and hemmed and hawed for about 10 seconds until he could look it up. Terry called Sosh “Mick Scioscia”. Terry started to call Howie “Kotch…”.
Lets do this Fellas

Ankle/Foot injury.
Zu Long - June 23, 2008
He is an idiot. Blocked the plate like a dumbawss
hauldog - June 23, 2008
Not as big of an idiot as you, douchebag
You’d be crying after a Felix fastball came within 4 inches of your face.
And from the video, he had his right foot in the correct positiob-facing 1st-for a pitchers’ block of the plate.
Now go lather up your vagina and fuck yourself, “hauldog”.
MidwestM'sFan - June 23, 2008
Now I'm the idiot
That’s “position-facing 1st”. Still not a fuckwad like you, though.
MidwestM'sFan - June 23, 2008
If by facing first you mean the back stop..................okay.....
Still stupid. Why would you block the entire plate with an unprotected limb?
Go home.

These douche bags said they wanted to 9/11 Shea stadium. Clearly a very unclassy fanbase.
Beltran was clean on the play.

i am not gonna ban a guy who speaks for a whole fan base

Rev Halofan - June 24, 2008
ok, felix is a good pitcher
but….
a) his team is up by 4 runs, and no need to risk injury for 1 run

c) he didnt have the ball

f) he didnt have the ball
anaheim angels - June 23, 2008
No ball, no shin guard, pretty big lead. Pretty f-ing stupid.
hauldog - June 23, 2008
To be fair, part of it was his catcher's fault.
He had time to flip Felix the ball, but didn’t seem to consider it and just dove for Beltran instead. If he gets Felix the ball, Felix has time to turn away.
Zu Long - June 24, 2008
It was pretty much a bang bang play. Agreed the catcher screwed up
But to honest Felix should know better.

Kotchman provides a game-winning HR yesterday, and today he’s batting sixth?
scareduck - June 23, 2008
Meh. Atleast he's in the lineup.
TheOptimist - June 23, 2008
I agree... whenever someone hits a game winner they need to be inserted into the 3 or 4
melvintoast - June 23, 2008
Slightly bogus
Kotch is the most consistent hitter in the lineup. Fifth at worst.
scareduck - June 23, 2008
He hasn't hit well above 6th though.
sub.600 OPS in 50+ PAs this year. 6th and 7th are where it’s at for him.
Zu Long - June 23, 2008
Well then he should hit 5 every night.
Not just after he has a good night.
melvintoast - June 23, 2008
He's in and Juice isn't.
That’s good enough for me.
Zu Long - June 23, 2008
okay, Lackey needs to shut them down
tanana40 - June 23, 2008
It's dumb, but I love the Kotch bat-flips when he messes up.

norcaliangelsfan - June 23, 2008

I just listened to Terry and Rex call the game during my drive home, and they are making a total hack of the broadcast tonight. They are getting facts wrong, names wrong, words wrong, stuttering all over the place. It’s noticeably embarrassing.
For example, (according to Rex) did you kinow that LoDuca is unavailable for the game tonight, due to an injury he is rehabbing? No? You didn’t know that? Apparently neither do the Nats, who sent LoDuca up to pinch hit about 10 minutes later.

highlandhalo - June 23, 2008
They sounded distracted, as though there were girls in the booth with them.
At one point Terry was trying to compliment Lackey on getting through so many innings on so few pitches, and half-way through the phrase “pitch efficiency”, he said “piss effic…”
Hud tried to make a point about how tough it was for the Halos to be facing Bergman, whom they had not seen before. But he forgot Bergman’s name and stumbled and hemmed and hawed for about 10 seconds until he could look it up. Terry called Sosh “Mick Scioscia”. Terry started to call Howie “Kotch…”.
And on and on it went.
