He had a no-no going against them in Detroit for 5+ innings earlier this year. Leave it to the Halos to make a journeyman look like Cy Young.
The offense is truly pathetic. Then again, with no Figgins & no Kendrick, not to mention no Vlad (although he’s a below-average hitter at this point), and Napoli in a slump, this is what one should expect.
Sadly, I doubt Vlad would have made a difference. Up until recently, I was sure he was hiding an injury, but now I’m starting to believe that he’s pretty much washed up.
Saunders didn’t pitch well, but he’s entitled to a stinker once in a while.
And will Justin Speier ever be able to pitch a scoreless inning again?
I love watching Willits. No matter how late the inning or how lop-sided the score, Reggie will do anything to find a way on base. He’s like a little bulldog and first base is his favorite chew toy.
It’s irrelevant now, but that’s the reason the score was 6-2, not 6-1. A point is a point.
Saunders could have given up 3 runs on three hits and thrown a complete game, and we still would have lost. The runs we give up are irrelevant if we cant score ourselves BOTG B Wood. and error and errors in batting
Just kidding fellow Halo fans, and Rev, BOTG gots to go too Foghorn Leghorn (for some reason referring to Saunders as the Colonel reminds me of Foghorn Leghorn) but our line-up did suck again.
Love the blame image...
I just hope we don’t have to see it that often.

yeswecan - May 28, 2008
i said it in the game thread.....but i blame the skipper.....that was a pedistrian line up...
even for the angels anemic standards…..you cant count on an A game every time from the Pitchin staff…...but nice jobs by Boot and Ollie
norcaliangelsfan - May 28, 2008

and k-mo is not an answer, he has no place to be
anaheim angels - May 28, 2008

Second Time

jjackflash - May 28, 2008
technically
speier did pitch a scoreless inning. it was his second inning that he gave the run up in.
b0rd3rline - May 28, 2008
hud is stoked about the lunch spread today
at the 2010 all-star game, there will be a minimum of angel fans allowed to have tickets. lame.
yeswecan - May 28, 2008
kudos to scioscia for trying to mix up the lineup
glad to see willits in the game. same line up Friday except swap out gmj for vlad
UCIHalo - May 28, 2008
Agreed.

Those are the kind of lead-off of guys you need.

totally disagree

BOTG B Wood. and error and errors in batting
Sinatrasratpack - May 28, 2008
That error
didn’t lead to a run.
TheTypingFiend - May 28, 2008
I blame Brandon Wood and Sean Rodriguez
Just kidding fellow Halo fans, and Rev, BOTG gots to go too Foghorn Leghorn (for some reason referring to Saunders as the Colonel reminds me of Foghorn Leghorn) but our line-up did suck again.
halofolife - May 29, 2008
Just kidding about B Wood and S Rod
Blame goes all around. The Colonel comes to mind for blame. Our offense sucked!!!!!
halofolife - May 29, 2008
I still blame the toronto turf.
