Meh. Neither one is ready for the Show, and the high-elevation parks the Angels’ AAA squad play in in the PCL just aren’t liable to teach them anything good about hitting. (OTOH pitchers who can figure it out in those parks tend to be really good when they get to the majors… guess I’ll take that anyway.)
Figgins can’t come back fast enough, provided he’s healthy, of course.
I know Brown could probably adjust given more playing time, but honestly
there’s no reason he should be batting in the majors over Wood. He seems to have just as much of a problem making contact without Wood’s upside or somewhat unique batspeed excuse.
brown looked so bad at the plate. it would have been impossible for wood to have done any worse. seriously – impossible. 7 Ks in 9 AB thats pretty rough. he did great with the glove though. give him a couple more starts until izzy comes back.
Is a glorified organization player, but a useful one at that. He’ll be here during the next several seasons as the next Quinlan type, while the Angels’ brass is hoping Wood can still be some kind of franchise star.
Let Wood play
if Brown is the alternative, there’s no reason that Wood shouldn’t be starting. The dude probably would have at least grounded out once or twice.

One more thing
If the Angels’ qualification for Wood making the majors is his not striking out too much, I have a feeling he may be in AAA at least another year.

wood proved he shouldn't be up here yet
now it’s brown’s turn
he should get a couple of games to see what he can/can’t do

I like Watching Woods AB's More.
but both bats are not ready for the Bigs. Brown had the SICK “D” though and I liked it.

Dude’s a homer hack!
He’s the same for the lame-ass Chargers. Hard to listen to unless you’re a fan of that team.

1st Time for Everything
This is time the Angels have won on my birthday when I’ve been in attendance.
This breaks a LOOONG streak. Thanks Chaka Khan … and that guy named Vlad (who’s on my fantasy team) for giving me a great B-Day!!
Grichfan - May 14, 2008
They've never won on my b-day...
Well, they haven’t LOST either! ;)

The Angels won
Game 7, three days before my 40th b-day. Does that count?
