although a part of me wants so see them make a change. DFA Q or send moseley down. something, but i guess its not good to over react and make a move after an emotional loss
I can deal with a jittery 21 yr old making his debut and on three days rest sucking. O’Day just had a bad game. Bootcheck and Moseley need to experience the waiver wire.
He entered the game with the LEAD and the opportunity to show that he still deserved to be in the rotation! Prove everyone wrong!
Granted, I thought a real 3B could have turned that “double” into a “double play” that opened the flood gates and lost the lead. Q butchered the play…it was a tough play, but someone who plays there everyday probably makes that play 75% of the time.
in the 2nd inning, he went 3-0 on a batter and was visibly angry with himself. I mean very visibly angry, doing some head movements and whatnot. He was headed for a meltdown with that kind of emotional outburst. Kind of reminded me of the emotional makeup of Lackey circa 2003-2005, when the Lack would have that one big inning blowup per game.
Despite such a rocky debut, there were some positives:
1) Adenhart hit 94 mph with the fastball. I wish he had been pitching on regular rest, as he might not have been at full strength. According to the scouting reports he can throw 95.
2) Threw some very sharp, tight, 12-to-6 curves (78 mph).
His change-up is supposed to be even better than his curve, but he was so wild yesterday there weren’t any opportunities to utilize it effectively.
I hope the Angels can harness his talent and develop him into a solid starter.
How many games would be would be....
....in first, if Billy Beane was our GM?
That team has got nobody, and somehow manages to win….so far.

Too bad his debut started out like that. However, look at how Ervin Santana debuted.

UCIHalo - May 1, 2008
what makes this game really said, besides letting Oakland score a zillion runs
is we came back after that really bad 2nd inning. momentum had switched back over, it was a whole new game until freakin moseley
UCIHalo - May 1, 2008
Yeah...
I thought Moseley really had a chance to GAIN from pitching well. He flopped. Shoot, I am starting to be convinced the blame should go to Mose…
Downing Rules - May 2, 2008
all of them deserve it
it was bad all around…
bighead - May 1, 2008
How 'bout we forget about all this and just give Matt Brown
a special “rookie of the day” for that smashing double he hit in the 9th inning?
44FAN - May 1, 2008
im okay with that
although a part of me wants so see them make a change. DFA Q or send moseley down. something, but i guess its not good to over react and make a move after an emotional loss

Moseley
Bootcheck at least manned up and took one for the team.

Pretty much a suckfest from the pen
I’ll go with Moses. He got a chance to show that this should have been his start…...and he totally blew it.

Moseley without question

4th inning right?
I forget. But yeah, I rememebr that as well…
scottnak - May 2, 2008
I don't think he made it to the fourth...
it was the 2nd when he gave up his first walk and right after he had been pretty dang sharp in the first inning. 2nd for sure.
