i also think scioscia is the one calling the shots i'm pretty sure garret can say all he wants but in the end scioscia is the one writing the lineups. we'll see
Great debut for Mr. Garland. Excited to see what he brings the rest of the season. He won't go undefeated, but as long as the defense is solid and he gets as many ground balls as he did last night we're going to have high praise for him.
And...as great as last night's win was, watching Putz blow the save against Texas was just as fun!
Garland
is Panther!
I mean, it coulda been 3 or 4 guys, but 8 innings, 96 pitches, 1 ER... come on.. you can't go wrong there!

Welcome to the Angels Mr. Garland.....
Mr. Hunter, your official welcome is being withheld until further notice. (Though I suspect it will come tomorrow.)

garland
not a very exciting pitcher but a get the job done no problem
haloforlife - April 1, 2008
Garland
There's no question about this. 24 outs without striking someone out. I was pretty impressed with that.

Garland
Cool as a cucumber.

i cant wait for torii to get out of minnesota.

Garland!
Yep... no doubt about it. That was an amazing outing :)

Garland
Although is it too early to get excited about Kotchman?
Northwest - April 1, 2008
yes
but a great start!
yeswecan - April 1, 2008
I would argue it might be a little late to get excited about Kotchman.
TheTypingFiend - April 1, 2008
Yeah
He was only our second best hitter last year
The trend will continue
edhoo - April 1, 2008
Very excited
about both Kotch and Howie. The lower middle part of the lineup (as it stands now) will be a hitting machine
gorams77 - April 2, 2008
I do miss OC
But not it any painful way yet, thanks to Garland the groundball wonder.
Though there were a few balls Mice missed that I feel in my heart OC would have turned into outs.
TheTypingFiend - April 1, 2008
judy is the panther
a great pitching performance. the angels are gonna need alot more where that came from in the coming month or two
yeswecan - April 1, 2008
nice
Judy when his pitches sing and dance
Garlic when his pitches stink
Higz - April 2, 2008
9-1
It was 9-1, right, not 9-2. That's what MLB says anyways--I missed the end of the game (had to teach) so am relying on them.
Riverrun - April 1, 2008
fixed it
I was so pumped up that I had called the Twins making two errors on the PIX that i posted it.

so where are the garret haters now?
haloforlife - April 2, 2008
Garret is so lazy that the double shoulda been an inside the park homer.
melvintoast - April 2, 2008
i love garret, just wish hed DH , its better for the team
stezo - April 2, 2008
i agree...
i also think scioscia is the one calling the shots i'm pretty sure garret can say all he wants but in the end scioscia is the one writing the lineups. we'll see

I do miss Orlando
But not as much as having Garland saving the rotation and the Izzy man given the chance to prove his stuff.
PS I'd like to join in on the "don't ya dare dis Anderson parade." When healthy, I don't think he has lost a step from his glory years.
vladtheimpaler - April 2, 2008
Garland is Panther
OC is a great player, but what does doesn't equal the success great pitching will bring you.
Erik121 - April 2, 2008
What does "Panther" mean?
I keep seeing it thrown around in threads, but I don't get the Angels reference...
thetooth - April 2, 2008
On the main page
scroll down, and at the bottom of the right hand column, click on the link and read "The Lore of the Panther".
That should explain everything for you
billhune - April 2, 2008
Thanks.
I appreciate the help. Sorry I was too dim to find that on my own.
