Friday Night GAME THREAD - Bleached Laundry of Cicero @ Angels - 7 pm
Kelvim ESCOBAR vs. Jose CONTRERAS
TV: FSN Cable - RADIO: 710 A.M. (ingles) - 830 A.M. (spanish)

Do you realize the White Sox traded Esteban Loaiza to the Yankees for Contreras? Bet the Bombers wish they could un-do that spell...
Random Song Lyrics
A double bed
And a stalwart lover for sure
These are the riches of the poor
Tonight I will be sitting in the Dimaond Club for hopefully Mike Scioscia's 626th regular season victory as Angels Manager. He'll probably surpass Bill Rigney's 707 losses sometime late in the 2009 season - KC delivered #538 yesterday, you do the math.
Think the Pale Hose blows? Check out their version of the truth at the South Side Sox blog.

The poll is so true
I thought the Chicago White Sox were some kind of minor league team that filled in once in a while until millions of fans came out of nowhere after 05.StVladimir - May 4, 2007
There were quite a few there @ the 2005 ALCS.
clincher. They all said they flew out to see this game...they've been waiting for years.I was the last Angels fan out of the stadium that night (remember, I never leave early, and enjoy taking in even the most bitter of losses)...I walked down my usual exit ramp and suddenly said...what's that smell?
It was the smell of the champagne coming from the visitor's locker room seeping up to the exit ramps on the first base side.
Talk about the wrong exit route... I still can smell it. Usually the smell of champagne and alcohol is a celebratory odor. Not in this case....
Boo hoo.
Downing Rules - May 4, 2007
There were about 800 Chisox fans ...
... behind the visitors dugout after ALCS Game 5 in 2005 celebrating Chicago's advancement to the World Series. Roger and I sat in the left field upper deck in section 507 that postseason. Afterwards we descended the ramp down to the terrace level and walked towards the first base side (where our car is always parked). Congratulations, the best team won, good luck in the World Series, and wait until next year. We only viewed the Chicagoans celebration from afar and continued on into the parking lot.The White Sox have won 8 of the last 9 games I have seen them play in Anaheim. Hopefully the Halos will take 2-of-3 this weekend.

Yeti, I saw them, too...
I watched them from above the Angels' dugout (I was in F102 that drizzly night and did a "horizontal move" in the late 9th inning when everyone headed for the exits). A young kid got a bat from AK, and I was there catching sunflower seeds being thrown out from the dugout rats (who would want the leftover sunflower seeds -- throw me some gloves or bats or something!). I watched them until I started to get downright soaked by the drizzle then headed out through the champagne aromated halls.I appreciated and understood their band of brotherhood, as I felt the same way gathering with a slew of fellow Halos fans in October 2004 at Oakland when Davanon caught the final out in deep left to clinch the division title! We rocked until security escorted us out of the park.

Moving in the Right Direction
Well Mr. Rev.Diamond Club Seats ! You are going in the right direction. But where do you go from there ? ? ?

Diamond Club Blows...
Sat there about 5 times...and every time I yell, I have half the freakin' section looking at me like I am a freak of nature. What's wrong with making noise? Noise making is not only for the bleachers, folks. (I don't drink at the games either, so "he's drunk" doesn't apply when they say that about me).Downing Rules - May 4, 2007
This reminds me ......
of a similar incident. A few years back, I was at an Angels game in Toronto and was lucky enough to have a premium dugout level seat behind home plate (it's only two rows of seats, for a total of maybe 40 seats, tops). I'm quiet the whole game, but when Vernon Wells got thrown out at the plate, I jumped up and screamed "YOU'RE OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!".Awkward. 1) I'm in the Jays home park 2) The people in these seats, at the VERY MOST, applaud politely. Everyone in those seats gave me a look (not a glare) as if I had loudly farted during an opera. I actually sheepishly said, 'sorry....' and sat back down. I'm not going to complain because the fans I've encountered at Jays games have so far been great. I can't imagine the idiots at Fenway or Yankee stadium.
On a side note, because the seats are right next to the dugout, I actually met JOSE GUILLEN in 2004. And he was SO nice! He shook my hand and was very pleasant.

Really, half of the Diamond Club?Every time, i have sat there there has never been a problem about screaming or yelling for the Halos.

I just saw Scioscia
He was coming out of the Angels office wearing a nice Hawaiian Shirt. I was actually tongue tied and didn't say anything. Damn.Sweetmeats - May 4, 2007
Is there really such a thing
as a nice Hawaiian shirt?Rev Halofan - May 4, 2007
Maybe I'm biased...
Because as a rotund gentleman, I wear them all the time.Sweetmeats - May 4, 2007
Office Space Quote of the Day...
Lumbergh:"Oh, and remember: next Friday... is Hawaiian shirt day. So, you know, if you want to, go ahead and wear a Hawaiian shirt and jeans."
Maybe Bill Stoneman is really Bill Lumbergh???
"Yeah, hi...this is Bill Stoneman...we're going to need you to come in and bat fourth tonight"

what has he got a bus?? :)Downing Rules - May 4, 2007
I caught a glance of it.
It's a purple SUV. I think it's either a new Land Rover or a new Escalade. It was hard to tell because I only saw it from the side and I haven't seen a lot of cars on the road like it. He and his posse were rollin deep though.Higz - May 4, 2007
Ahhh, so that's who was in that thing...
I was trying to figure that out...I just saw this purple thing all tinted front and back and had no idea who was in there.I was a parking lot troll for my 7-yo daughter who wanted to get Salmon's autograph after the last game of the season last year.
We waited and waited and that Arizona-living punk (I love you, Tim) never came out and the sun started setting, the wife started bitchin' and the girl started crying... no autograph to be had that day for us... finally gave up at like 7PM.
We saw everyone including his parents, Marcy and the kids, but no Tim. Anybody know what time he finally left the stadium that night? Crazy.
We must have heard about 100 people who came out of the stadium on foot say "he's almost done in there..." "he should be out any minute now..."

Yahoo's preview...
I wonder if GMJ is going to not get the start tonight?from yahoo's game preview:
Gary Matthews Jr. and Orlando Cabrera were the only Los Angeles players to play every game this season before Thursday, when Cabrera was given the day off.
"Orlando's played a lot," Angels manager Mike Scioscia told the team's Web site. "Another guy we'd like to get off his feet is Gary. Those two guys have been playing a lot of baseball, playing well."
