I wonder if Ebel held him up, or it was a shallow hit, or sharply hit and Lofton got to it quickly or what? Maybe Lofton gunned it home and that was what held up CK, but allowed MiNapoli to get to 2nd?
he was in was because it was 7-1. Oliver was good last year, if he just needs to get some work in to regain his form, I don't have any problem using him in a 7-1 game.
but in the MLB game wrap it says "Jeff Weaver pitched seven innings of one-run ball as the Angels took the series finale against Texas." Not only did this not happen today, one doubts whether it ever did or ever will!

Gotta be Kotch
1-1, Grand Slam, 3 BBs, 4 RBIs, 2 RunsDifferent story if Murphy doesn't picked him up from second after not scoring on Napoli's double.

Lofton got a terrible jump
It looked like it could have been caught.......by GMJ.Not entirely Kotch's fault

And if Santana were on the mound
he'd piss this one away, too. Co-panthers?scareduck - May 14, 2007
Kotch
Weaver was amazing today, but Kotch lit a fire into our offense with that grand slamLos Angeles de Anaheim - May 14, 2007
And the winner is...
Mr roll-over to second, light-hitting, mono-infested, daddy lovin', ass-kissin' to get to the bigs, Casey Kotchman. He really needed this hit and hopefully he carries that over to the area formerly known as the Kingdome.

Can't Scioscia/Stoneman do better than
Darren "Under my Mission Impossible mask, I'm really JC Romero" Oliver? Thank Jeebus the score was 7-1 when this cooler took the mound.PieceOfAase - May 14, 2007
If Angels management had any guts
They'd DFA Oliver, put Santana in the bullpen, and call up Saunders to take Santana's spot in the rotation.Fan Since 1981 - May 14, 2007
I don't think our lil' boodoo child
could emotionally handle being demoted to AAA much less the bullpen.cupie - May 14, 2007

Kotch
He is taking walks again and he is hitting the ball in the air. Amazing.hauldog - May 14, 2007

Co-panthers: Kotchman and Weaver
Kotch's grand slam in the 1st quickly wiped out any lingering distaste from yesterday's game and gave Weaver a lead to work with.Jered was terrific to hold the Rangers to just 1 run over 7 innings in Arlington. A very tough park on pitchers.

haha
they fixed it in the actual story, but not here!!!thrill000 - May 14, 2007
Somebody at mlb.com is an idiot
They did the same thing on the Angels' page for the game story (I posted it near the top of the game thread).Neo8234 - May 14, 2007
i think it's fixed now.
thrill000 - May 14, 2007
Just watched the game after DVR'ing it.
God bless the DVR.Anyway, great game today. Anytime Darren Oliver is pitching in the bottom of the ninth, you know things are good.
I gave the player of the game to Weaver, but it could have gone either way. It was nice to see Kotch do something.
bc56274 - May 14, 2007
Happy they took 3 of 4...
...but can't help fixating on the idea that they should have swept the series. Yesterday's loss still stings.Kenny Katella - May 14, 2007
There needs to be a co-panther option on the poll.
If there was I'd vote for it.cardinalwraith - May 14, 2007
fair or foul
I like it either/or - the gray areas are everywhere else in the world...Rev Halofan - May 14, 2007
