K-ROD
How about Frankie, hitting 99 on the gun today?  This is a guy who almost never topped 94 before this year.  Quite a jump.

Kelvim... lights out.

I think Tiger Stadium has a juiced radar gun
Zuamaya 103?

More like 99, making Frankie's 93, which is reasonable - and effective!

yeah,
quite possible, although at other stadium's he's been getting 96 & 97 in almost every outing.  Good win though, and I am eagerly awaiting the great CHOAK. I'm at school in norcal and seeing angry A's fans has made me happy the past 2 years.
2-3 M.P.H.
The gun at kitty kat park runs 2-3 m.p.h. fast, obviously for the purpose of pumping up the whole Zumaya thing.  Escobar was 95-96 all night, even in the eighth.  He's usually 93-94, occasionally 95.  So it was reading 2 m.p.h. fast for him.

And K-Rod usually tops out at 96 for a strike, 97 overall.  He was at 98 and 99, respectively.

So figure that Zumaya just isn't throwing 100 except when the gun reads 102 or higher.  Which it sometimes does, but not on every single pitch.

Joe Morgan, who admittely can be something of a dolt, declared quite confidently that Zumaya was not throwing 102.  He's seen 102, he said, and that wasn't it.

This time, Joe's right.

Uhh....
I've seen Frankie hit 95mph and 96mph quite a few times.....
In the last month or two?
It is not that he cannot, just that he has not recently - scoreboard guns are notoriously unreliable.
i'm with the rev on this one...
frankie was at 99 a couple times tonight, and that hasn't happened in like 4 years.

i'm sure detwat has a generous gun.  having zumaya at 102 and 103 will put a few more butts in the seats.

Matt Cain hit
394 MPH on the A's radar gun haha
yeah but
I said he rarely hit above 94 BEFORE this year... i'm just saying that overall he's seen a noticeable boost from previous years.
That's what I'm refuting
I agree that the 99 is a bit high. But Frankie has pretty consistently hit 95-96 with his fastball in the past. Now, I've haven't paid that much attention to his velocity in the last few weeks, but I KNOW that he can throw 95-96.
last year
he was 94 all the time.

This year I've seen him at 96 quite a bit.  Like the trend.

Joe Morgan Quote
"If Vlad goes into a slump, the Angels are dead."  Perhaps showing his value again tonight with the home run in an otherwise meak offense (3 hits).
Joe Morgan also said
the Angels would not catch the A's and that the Head-To-Head games at the end of the season were no different than any other games.

MEANING:

All wee need now is for Tim McCarver to rave about the A's and the Angels slamdunk the division.

7.5 Game Lead
no fear E-Lo is here..
Tonight we dine on Fancy Feast
Escobar gets the big helping.

Vlad's home run was LITERALLY a rope tacked to home plate and stretched in a taut line over the wall into the bullpen.  Excellent.

Question:

If I'm not handicaped and no one in my party is handicaped... am I still allowed to purchase the Wheelchair access seats off of Ticket Exchange?

NO
they WILL kick you out
Gifting or reselling of seats to an individual who does not require a wheelchair accommodation, will require that the user visit the Angels ticket office prior to the game and exchange their ticket. It is the responsibility of the ticket holder to communicate this policy to the ticket user. Angels Baseball LP may exchange wheelchair accessible game tickets for more appropriate seat locations, subject to availability.
Rent a wheelchair for the season
haha. oh my... I don't think so.
Yeah I'll stay away from that. I found some affordable seats for tomorrow behind the bullpen.  I've never sat in that section before (during a game).  I sat there once during KC batting practice.  I thought it was pretty cool to be right there with the pitchers and the pitching coaches.
The seats in the left field
pavillion behind the bullys are some of my FAVORITE seats.  You'll have a blast out there.
You CAN purchase the seats, BUT
you will have to trade them in at the box office once you get to the stadium, and they DO NOT guarantee that they can provide you comparable seating.

In other words, IF you buy handicapped seats in, say section 213 (which cost close to $40 each), the Angels COULD end up putting you in section 540 row Z if that's all that's available.

9 Game Home Stand Beginning with O's!!!
Our Halos are finally home against the O's after a 2 out of 3 win against the Tigers in Detroit. This 9 game home-stand begins with the O's..then Blue Jays and finally the White Sox. We need wins to pick up ground against the A's (damn A's are on a tear right now). I am used to us winning the AL West. 2 straight titles now! Remember..we went 22 years without a title at one point! Thats why every AL West title is precious.
Pray not only that we win but that the A's looose! >:-)~
