Frankie and Shields (and Donnelly to a lessser degree) are probably in the least likely position to get a PANTHER award because when they come in and do their job, it is just them doing their job, we expect them to do it, whereas if someone has the dramatic pinch hit or a combo of powerful hits and dramatic fielding/baserunning, they are going above and beyond what we expect of them.
Ya know what II mean? Frankie, Brendan Scot with one Tee, they are likely to be awarded Pantehr of the Game in contests that feature bland starting pitching and offensive performance is spread around among many players. Even then, a little tightrope dancing is probably required as well....
...they only get blame when they fuck up. Mike Vanderjagt is the most accurate kicker in NFL history and will only be remembered for missing the kick against the Steelers.
If Shieldsy strikes out the side without allowing a baserunner, or Frankie for that matter, it's ho-hum.
One of them would probably have to come in with the bases loaded and nobody out and not give up a run in a close game to get the Panther, methinks.
Is that for Fred Lynn, Jason Dickson or Curtis Pride. If it's for Lynn, I think I love her. He was my idol growing up. 19 has been my # for everything and as luck would have it, my daughter was born on 9/19/00!!!
As for the other RBI, no idea, the game replays generally suck, as does ALL FSN Angels coverage because they know Arte is not watching and they consider themselves a Lakers/Dodgers network...
they're basically paying the Angels as much as (if not slightly more than) the Dodgers. So even if they consider themselves Dodgers/Lakers, they're just as committed financially to the Angels.
FSN #1, strangely enough, is the Lakers/Kings/Angels station, whereas the Dodgers are relegated to the same station as the Clippers (and Ducks).
They could have showed the run-scoring plays. Instead, they cut back in with the runs having scored and two guys on base, and all they showed were the outs. Why not show the first part of the inning instead?
On a happier note, they did show Cabrera's popup and loud "fuck!" in the 5th.
Don't watch it, they might do something eventually...
I mute Angel games due to their awful production values and am therefore unable to patronize ANY of their sponsors. To bad FSN cannot put a good product on my televsion, I would see and hear a LOT more commercial messages...
They posted the indians' mlb.tv feed instead of the angels... I really wanted to grab the sound bite of Cabrera yelling "FUCK!" as he slammed his helmet into the wall in the dugout after the 5th inning infield popout.

Can someone explain
why, on the game replay, they edited out the Angels' scoring plays in the 2nd inning, and only showed the outs? Does that make sense to anyone?jjackflash - August 8, 2006
Vlad hit the first pitch of the inning for a HR
so maybe they snipped too late.As for the other RBI, no idea, the game replays generally suck, as does ALL FSN Angels coverage because they know Arte is not watching and they consider themselves a Lakers/Dodgers network...

Under the new contracts

I Know, but
They could have showed the run-scoring plays. Instead, they cut back in with the runs having scored and two guys on base, and all they showed were the outs. Why not show the first part of the inning instead? On a happier note, they did show Cabrera's popup and loud "fuck!" in the 5th.

I was waiting for that.Maybe later tonight, or tomorrow.

And to make matters worse...
they cut to commercial right in the freakin' middle of Tim Salmon's AB in the 8th inning! In other words, they did not show how the winning run scored.
What's the point?
jjackflash - August 8, 2006
the point is to sell commercials
Don't watch it, they might do something eventually...I mute Angel games due to their awful production values and am therefore unable to patronize ANY of their sponsors. To bad FSN cannot put a good product on my televsion, I would see and hear a LOT more commercial messages...

between the feeds. Might just be because I live here on Gilligan's Island with the CoCoNut wireless and all.But if it isn't great. Radio feeds are always better. They actually talk about the action, and make sense.
