When two out of your three runs are infield singles driving in a guy from second base, the Panther's roar is signalled by a 5'9 windmill south of 3rd base.

Interesting
On the drive home, I was thinking about maybe OC, and then reading over the game thread, I was reminded of Figgins' really excellent work in CF. Oakland scores a few more runs if he doesn't make even one of those. And we've seen him foul one of those up previously, so his play was crucial.
This really was a team victory; solid pitching, aggressive baserunning, a timely hit or two, plus a key defensive play.
So it goes to...Dino Ebel, huh? OK, I can live with that. I've been less than impressed with him thus far, but he clearly made the right decisions and communicated them to the guys tonight.
you promised me a story involving Kotsay and a UPS herbal shipment. :-) I was gonna yell this to him last night, but i felt guilty with all the kids around: "Hey Kotsay! See the grass? Don't smoke it!"
I will tell it to you in person at the park, you know where my seats are...
And I neevr feel guilty about yelling ANYTHING in the stands... Orange COunty's children live such overprotected lievs they are almost grateful for an F-Word out of the mouths of strangers... Tonight someone grabbed an Oakland fan's hat and threw it and when he finally got it back five minutes later I yelled I WIPED MY ASS WITH YOUR HAT and these kids a row or two ahead of me were so thrilled, they tapped the guy on the back and pointed to me and warned him that I had wiped my ass with his hat.
Yeah, Monday night's game had the parents a few rows in front of us yelling at some drunk guys just for being loud (not even any profanity). She was under the impression that the RF pavilion was a family section.
I got yelled at by a lady who is in serious need of some ritalin. All night she kept sliding into her seat like it was the end of a tripple with a close throw coming in hard.
My experience tonight isn't really like yours but here goes.
During the Milton "Game of Life" Bradley strikeout in the 9th I was standing the whole time... as were many fans. On any given pitch Bradley was sure to hit into a ground out, pop up or line out so I saw the opportunity to cheer Frankie on from the 1st pitch. This section(406) who wouldn't participate in anyones "lets go angels" chants or anything actually yells at my friend, myself and a few other people who were excited and cheering for an out pitch to "sit down." I waved my arms and yelled "Stand up!" The ritalin lady who was crouched in a ready to pounce position yells at me to sit down because there aren't two strikes. I'm like.."He could be out on the next pitch." She gets pissed and is like" there aren't two strikes sit down." I can't stand anyone discouraging wild enthusiasm for the team. I would prefer people to cheer for every 3rd out of every inning(specifically against a team like the Oakland A's in a situation where we are about to take step 1 of 2 towards taking 1st place from them). What is with people?
I was at the final game vs. the Twins to go to the World Series and I don't remember sitting hardly at all during that game. Is there something wrong with me for standing during Bradley's entire at bat?
They won't do shit to anyone who is just being a fan and enjoying the game - when security comes and telsl you not to curse, claim you are religious and never curse and make a wild accusation about the person who complained about you.
All this especially works if you are not drinking... heh heh heh, my license to be a deek!
"Look, I was just about to come to you (THE USHER) and ask if it was possible to move to another section - that woman is like a crazy person who has not taken her medicine... She keeps calling me Larry - my name is not Larry, I don't know her... Can you guys help me???"
...on the drive down there, but isn't Ebel stationed west of third base? just sayin' is all. Either way, he's da panther, for all of his decision making tonight. Third base coaches are like NFL kickers...you don't realize how important they are to you until they are the difference maker in the game.
First off, one of my best friends is a die hards A's fan. As you know 98% of A's fans are die hard fans, if they werent why else would they be A's Fans. I take him to all the Angels/A's games each year. We have a great time at the games as we just haze one another all night. We alos have a running bet (this is the third year) on which team will have the best record at the end of the year. Looser and wife take the the winner and wife to dinner of the winners choice. Last two years have been great dinners at Maggiano's and Salt Creek Grill... oh the glory!
The past three years, there have been some A's fans at the game, but this year A's fans are all over the place. He was all excited that he was surrounded by 30-40 A's fans last night in my seats in sect P239. So during the 2nd inning 8 A's fans show up in the row in front of ours, real rowdy bunch. They had these huge yellow foam A's cowboy hats and old school A's Jerseys (the best one had to admit was a #9 Jackson Jersey). If you were in the pavillion you saw these yahoos with their hats on. On top of these foam hats, there was a big bucket like hole. The entire night, Angel fans were throwing peanuts into the buckets, it was abolutely hilarious. By then end of the night, there had to be at least 50 peanuts that made it in the buckets. And of course towards the end of the night they started to act like any Raider or A's fan and started challenging everyone to a fight. It was great...I kept on telling them that the bucket on top of their hats would hold a lot of A's tears come the end of the night...I sure am glad I was right!
I'm not arguing with the panther selection, but how can it be that Frankie has no panthers? Have we all become so spoiled that we take his panther-ness for granted? Or is it because he only pitches in tight situations when he himself creates them?

Dino Ebel one 'fer four
He finally did NOT screw up!To wit:
SocalAngelFaninOC - August 2, 2006
Only one of those can be blamed on Ebel
The Napoli one.Rivera not tagging is his own screw-up. Same with The Legs; the play was in front of him, he was looking at it all the way, and it was his choice.
