Strength of Schedule

There is this thing on the free part of ESPN.com that puts the Angels in the top Third of the league in toughness of teams we have faced.

Good News: Oaky Choaky has had it real nice and easy, so they would be expected to regress a bit when the face actual Major League teams.

Bad News: Texas is a few games better than us with a similarly rated opponent strength.

Food for Thought: According to this measurement, the Blue Jays are For Real.

It is rare that I read anything on ESPN.com and feel this good. Not confident per se, just good - at least better than I did earlier today.

The News
the good: despite the angels' anemic offense, they're only 4 games out.

the bad: unless stoneman really does go after a big bat, we're gonna have many more nights like last night.

the ugly: mickey hatcher.

Ratings and Rankings
I won't believe anything ESPN has to say about rankings or ratings until they begin capitalizing with PHIL.
Buster Olney
Had mentioned that he spoke with Stoneman and the organization believes in their system and will look to use the 2005 Braves as a model for the 2006 season.  Stoneman is usually tight with the info but I get the feeling that this statement is the plan that the Angels intend to follow.
