Washburn will not be re=signed at that price. Byrd at 1-year, 5.5 million is about right.

No. The Angels have Colon, Escobar, Lackey,and Santana returning next year for sure, with Saunders getting ready. They don't need another starter.
I don't know. I suspect that what's going wrong can't be fixed, but we won't know for sure until spring training next year.
Why would Molina take a smaller deal with the Angels than he could get elsewhere?

Only if you're not planning on bringing back Washburn or Byrd.
In spring training, I think he is. He'll have to earn a job, though.
No. I don't really bring him back under almost any circumstances outside of a one year deal. I'm fine turning the job over to Mathis next season.

I wish we could sign Washburn for $7.5 per. I would be wary of signing Byrd to anything more than a one-year deal.
Nope. Glaus' shoulder is going to shut him down in the future. Maybe not this year, maybe not next year, but someday... someday...

Not sure. If he gets his shit together immediately, then yes. If he continues to fail miserably, then I'd say "make him prove it in spring training."
The Angels need to keep Bengie, because no other catcher can hit -- at all. Offer him something, but don't lowball him because you think he might take a homer deal. He won't. Why should he?

Glaus is a proven hitter, McP isn't. They're both fragile. I'll take Glaus.

Oh my gawd hell nah. Did you see him try to catch baseballs last night? Does that body look like it will age well? Is there not a very good prospect just up from Triple A who's a better defender right now? Aren't there more pressing needs for that money?
